Thank you Caite for posting! I issued a request for all three of us to post about our Halloweens, and she did, busy as she is! Bless her heart. Now it's my turn.
Halloween this year was just plain fantastic. I decided I was going to be Wonder Woman. Modest, of course. I was not wearing a spangly corset, nor was I wearing spangly booty shorts. I wore pants and a Wonder Woman t shirt. You know what it feels like to walk around as Wonder Woman? It feels great. If someone was narrating my day today, it would go like this:
"Wonder Woman is raking the leaves. Wonder Woman is washing the dishes. Wonder Woman made dinner. Wonder Woman is eating cake."
Or thereabouts. I only wore my t shirt to work today, because I was taking the boss to a restaurant that will give candy to people wearing costumes. It wasn't worth it, though. All I got was a teeny little ziplock bag of Halloween jelly beans. I hate jelly beans.
Also, we had a dinner tonight with friends. My roommate and I planned it and executed it and speaking of cake, that was my favorite part. I made a white cake with vanilla frosting, but dyed the cake orange and the frosting turned out a tombstone gray. It was delicious.
On Saturday I went to two parties within the ward and played games. It was a blast. At the second party, my roommate and I started a Foosball tournament and ended up with three people (my team) on two people (her team) and at the last game I told her that loser does the dishes. I lost. And I did the dishes. And then we left the game to the guys (the experienced players) and went to the haunted corn maze.
The haunted corn maze was just plain AWESOME. We got so lost and held hands and ran away from people and all out had a blast. The actors kind of stopped acting and were goofing off with us, which was great. I know I've told several people the same stories about the corn maze several different times, but really, I just like talking about it because it was that much fun.
And then Monday was the ward FHE Halloween party, which was great. Ashley Roommate and I ran around and were goofing off. We did the donut race, which was eating donuts off of a string and the race was over when you had all the donut in your mouth (you didn't have to swallow it), which means your donut is eventually going to fall off the string and you're going to have to eat it off the floor. It was great. And when it came to apple bobbing, we both stuck our whole heads basically underwater to try to catch the stupid apple. It's a heck of a lot harder than it seems, and we walked around the rest of the night with wet hair.
I love Halloween. I was planning my costume for a while, and I'm already excited for next year. Good thing Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here soon, or I might start getting next year's Halloween costume next week.
I just love holidays.
Love, Meems
