Sun, Moon, and Stars

First of all, I'm alive and well in Colorado/Wyoming. I add the slash because the ranch I'm at sits right on the border, so we're riding along and I'm never quite sure where the line is and what state I'm in. Second of all, this post is inspired by the occasional look back at our lives.

Whenever I meet someone that doesn't know my family, just me, and I talk about my sisters, I always compare us to the sun, the moon, and the stars. We're all so very different from each other, and yet we get along and each shine in our own different ways. We also have our own times to shine and we're all so gorgeous!

As I was talking to my little sister on the phone yesterday (sorry, Ash, I ran out of time before I had the chance to call you), I thought about how the three of us have taken our separate ways, and they're all very different from each other. Ashley's off in Idaho, married and working on being an artsy person, with her music degree and all. I'm off in the middle of nowhere on a cattle ranch, getting down in the dirt and playing with the pigs and the horses and the cows, still not 100 percent sure on what I'm going to do with my life when I go back to Utah to college. And Caite is planning on graduating high school and going to the local tech school, and going somewhere with her life that allows her to do hands-on things, I won't say exactly what cause I'll leave that to her ;).

And yet, we can be very similar. All of us are optimistic for the future, strong in the gospel, love our family, and happy with where we are in life, or if we're not, we get there. I can honestly say that I am so proud of my family for choosing good paths in their lives and with how we get along. I'm just proud as a peacock of my two lovely sisters, as well as my three brothers. And I know my sisters will agree that we all have the best parents in the world!

As for how I'm doing on the ranch, I might start a new blog for that. I've got some pretty great stories. But then again, I might not.... I have a hard time remembering to blog.

Ashley and Caite, post on here soon! If I can do it, so can you!

  1. I posted just recently! And you could always just write about your ranch experiences on your current blog.

I'm proud of everyone too!! And I think Caite needs to post and tell us about her plans- I don't know them yet!!
